How it works

It all comes down to cadence.

Cadence is the rhythm of your stops — and it's the thing the Planner gets right for your vehicle. In motorcycle mode it paces fuel stops to a safe slice of your tank range. In car mode it runs on a time cadence — a break every one to three hours, with fuel range as a safety net. In EV mode it plans around your charge curve. Set yours once, and the route builds itself one layer at a time:

Cadence layer

Fuel & charge, on cadence

Spaced to your tank range, a time cadence, or an EV's charge curve — the base rhythm every other stop hangs off.

The little things

The fussy details, already handled.

The kind of things you'd sweat over planning by hand — quietly taken care of on every route.

Stops worth pulling over for

  • Closed-down stops are filtered out — anything temporarily or permanently shut never gets recommended, fuel or food or hotel.
  • Only real gas counts: propane swaps, aviation fuel, and farm-supply pumps don't get mistaken for a fill-up.
  • Fuel spaced to a safe slice of your tank, never to the last mile — dial it anywhere from cautious to extended.
  • Start each day topped off, with an optional fill-up at a station near where you set out.

Tuned to your taste

  • Hold out for good food: set a minimum restaurant rating of 3.5, 4.0, or 4.5 stars.
  • Pick the fuel you trust — travel plazas, convenience chains, discount clubs, or national & regional brands.
  • Sleep your way: campgrounds, budget motels, mid-range, upscale, extended-stay, or boutique.
  • Five stop types — breakfast, coffee, lunch, ice cream, dinner — each landing at the right hour of the day.

Built for the real road

  • Send a whole day to Google Maps in one tap, every stop in order.
  • Flip on “avoid interstates & freeways” for any day you'd rather take the back way.
  • Export any day as a GPX track for a dedicated GPS unit.
  • Your plan is cached on your phone, so it's there when the signal isn't.
How Epic Trips are made

Curated where it counts. Computed where it matters.

Our 37 Epic Trips aren't generated from thin air. The soul of each one is hand-picked by road trippers; the logistics are placed by the same cadence engine that powers every plan.

Hand-curated

The soul of the trip

  • The destination and the story — why this route is worth your week.
  • The diners, cafés, and ice-cream stops actually worth the detour, chosen by name.
  • The photo pull-offs and signature stops you'd be sorry to blow past.
  • Where to spend the night at the end of each day.
Placed by the engine

The logistics

  • Fuel stops, spaced to your vehicle's cadence and tank range.
  • Day-by-day mileage and timing, tuned to how far you like to ride or drive.
  • The drive line itself, ready to hand off to Google Maps.
  • Run it in reverse, and the whole plan re-bakes for the trip home.
